I managed the Yahoo! Philippines Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/yahoophilippines) and Twitter Page (https://x.com/yahooph) from October 2016 to September 2020. This fully remote role included daily coordination with the Yahoo! Asia HQ in Singapore via Slack and Google Meets.
Since starting, the key metric of link clicks from social channels has grown by 57%, the audience by 27%, and engagement by 30%.
I curated content for posting based on what would resonate with the Filipino audience for engagement. I also analyzed Facebook Insights data to determine succeeding social media strategies, wrote copy for infographic text, and recommended which posts to boost.
I did an average of 40 posts a day (20 per day on weekends and holidays) on both platforms to promote the latest news.
Their Twitter page no longer retains its content since the company pulled out of the Philippine social space in 2022. Their Facebook page still exists, but the latest posts aren’t mine.
Here are the top posts from my last two months at the company in August and September of 2020, taken from the biweekly reports I made. Facebook posts were boosted, while Twitter posts were purely organic.
In addition, I handled the social media of https://x.com/philstarsupreme (the pop culture section of The Philippine Star, one of the top 3 major broadsheets in the country) as the section’s Managing Editor (2015-2017).
I also used to write copy for social posts at https://www.facebook.com/PlazaSingapura, a commercial center in Singapore.
